Visiting Scholar Program

Program Overview

The Visiting Scholar Program at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies (CrimSL) at the University of Toronto offers fellow scholars an opportunity to spend a semester or a full academic year at CrimSL working on projects of mutual interest to the Centre and/or university community.  The goal is to enrich the CrimSL community and the experience of our students by creating space for diverse perspectives and expanding our intellectual resources and networks.

Visiting Scholars can contribute by presenting their work in progress in our seminar series and in our classes, and engaging in other collaborative initiatives.

Support

Visiting Scholars will be offered an email address, modest printing access and library privileges, as well as up to $2,000 CAD for a round-trip ticket or ground transportation to facilitate travel to the university. Unused funds for travel can instead be used for supplemental research expenses.

Depending on availability, the Centre may also provide Visiting Scholars with private or shared office space.

Eligibility

Visiting Scholars must be faculty from other universities and research institutes who hold continuing appointments in their home institutions.
